Who is Jesus?
The Bible clearly answers the question, "Who was Jesus" as it records His life and ministry. The Bible describes Jesus having humble beginnings, being born in a stable in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago (Luke 2). The events of Jesus’ birth fulfilled many prophecies of the coming Jewish Messiah. Isaiah foretold of a young woman, a virgin, who would conceive and give birth to a baby and name him Emmanuel, which means "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14). As a boy, Jesus stunned the theologians at the temple. He had great knowledge and wisdom from God (Luke 2:41-52).
Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist and began His public ministry. He performed many miracles—healing the sick, casting out demons, ruling the weather, feeding thousands from a little boy’s lunch, and many more miraculous works over His 3-year ministry.
The death of Jesus Christ on the cross was the pinnacle of His earthly ministry (Mark 15:21-41). It is the purpose of His life and the reason He was born. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." The body of Jesus was taken down from the cross, laid in a borrowed tomb, and left until after the Sabbath.
When women came to prepare the body for burial, they found the tomb empty. Jesus had risen from the dead in His glorified state and would appear to many to prove that death had no hold over Him (Mark 16). He then ascended into heaven (Luke 24:50).

Can I be accepted by Jesus?
Often we disqualify ourselves from God’s love because of our history, our failures and shortcomings. Sin (living life our own way) has separated us from God and we can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. So how can we accept love, acceptance and forgiveness of sin where we have not earned it? The Bible says that nothing in all of creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And to accept God’s love is to trust His patient, forgiving and gracious stance towards us. Only He has the power to free us from guilt, shame and condemnation to give us a life of wholeness. All we have to do is ask Him to help us.
Choosing a New life with Jesus
To be made whole, or to be saved is to submit to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. It is a turning from our old ways and turning to Jesus, to ask Him for forgiveness from our sins and to give us new life in Him.
Romans 10:9 says that “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Salvation is God’s free gift to us and we become His children.
It is an acceptance into the family of God and it is an empowerment to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to the rest of His creation.
If you are not sure whether you are right with God or you know in fact that you need Jesus in your life, you can choose to follow Him right now by praying a prayer of surrender to Jesus.

Prayer to follow Jesus
Dear Jesus,
I need you in my life. I recognise that you are the Son of God and that You died on the cross, paying the price for my sin, making a way for God to forgive my sin.
I realise also, that sin is simply living a self-centered life, a self willed life, doing life my own way.
I choose today to ask You to forgive my sin. Come into my life Jesus, I choose to live my life Your way from now on.
Fill me with Your spirit and make my life new again, a fresh start from now.
Help me believe in You and love You every day, help me to show the world what You are like and how great Your love is, by what you do in my life.
In Jesus' Name.
Amen.

Congratulations! To pray these words with a surrendered heart to trust Jesus, is the beginning of the most important decision you can make as it will bring life and love to every area of your life.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
